County Road is making waves in the local music scene with its eclectic blend of country and Americana tunes. Featuring a lineup of seasoned musicians—Jim Ventresca on vocals and lead guitar, Danielle Livellara on vocals, Peter Lind on harmonica and sax, Roger Hill on drums, and Art Edelstein on bass guitar.
The band delivers an engaging mix of hits, hidden gems, and deep cuts sure to delight music lovers of all stripes. Named after the scenic County Road that links their hometowns of Montpelier, Calais, Woodbury and Worcester, the group draws on a wide range of influences, seamlessly blending country classics from artists like George Strait and Kathy Mattea with rootsy Americana by Gillian Welch, Ian Tyson, and Bob Dylan. With a repertoire spanning Brooks & Dunn to Alison Krauss, audiences can expect an evening of toe-tapping dance tunes and heartfelt ballads.
Each member brings a unique musical history to the group. Drummer Roger Hill, a veteran of the California surf rock scene, drives the band’s dynamic rhythms. Harmonica and sax player Peter Lind contributes a jazzy edge from his years with local jazz and blues projects. Art Edelstein rounds out the band on bass, returning to his American roots after decades exploring bluegrass and Celtic traditions. At the helm is Jim Ventresca, whose soulful vocals and masterful fingerstyle guitar create a rich tapestry of sound that reflects his lifetime of musical passion. Danielle Livellara has recently joined the band on vocals, adding a soulful feminine sound that draws from her decades of experience as an alto in the Vermont Symphony Orchestra chorus combined with her experience as a Nashville back up singer.
County Road’s live performances invite audiences to dance, connect, and celebrate the joy of music that spans generations.
